Dua When You Wake Up for Tahajjud
When you wake up for Tahajjud, it is recommended to recite the following dua:
“Allahumma lakal-hamdu anta noorus-samawaati wal-ardi wa man fihinna. Wa lakal hamdu anta qayyimus-samawaati wal-ardi wa man fihinna. Wa lakal-hamdu anta rabbus-samawaati wal-ardi wa man fihinna. Wa lakal-hamdu anta haqqun, wa wa'duka haqqun, wa liqa'uka haqqun, wa qauluka haqqun, wal jannatu haqqun, wannaru haqqun, was-sa'atu haqqun, wassiratu haqqun. Allahumma laka aslamtu, wa bika amantu, wa 'alayka tawakkaltu, wa ilayka anabtu, wa bika khasamtu, wa ilayka hakamtu, faghfirli ma qaddamtu wama akh-khartu, wama as-rartu, wama'a lantu, anta-l-muqaddim wa anta-l-mu'akh-khir, la ilaha illa anta (or la ilaha ghayruka).”
The English translation of this dua is:
"O Allah! All praises are for You who is the light of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in them. All praises are for You who is the sustainer of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in them. All praises are for You who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in them. All praises are for You who is true, and Your promise is true, and meeting with You is true, and Your word is true, and paradise is true, and hell is true, and the Hour is true, and the Resurrection is true. O Allah! To You I have submitted, in You I have believed, and in You I have put my trust. To You I have turned, for You I am arguing. To You I seek judgment, so forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, what I have concealed and what I have disclosed. You are the One who brings forward and the One who puts back. There is none worthy of worship except You (or there is no worthy of worship except You)."
